First of all, if you haven't played chess for 35 years, don't take it up again. I can hardly think one move ahead, let alone three or four. My brain has atrophied.
Second, my grandparenting techniques are still spot on. Just the other day my granddaughter who is newly potty trained asked me to come in and wipe her. When I got to the bathroom she looked at me and smiled, "Grandma, you are the best wiper!"
Third, reading is easier than writing.
Lastly, here is a picture of what is left of my car.
How funny that you posted.... I have been thinking of you post-wedding and diet ! Every time I pass a McDonalds I remember your last statement something about your sister and a cheeseburger....
ReplyDeletePlus I know what Sunday is.....
cheers, parsnip
p.s. New header outstanding !
ReplyDeleteBut I miss the old one. The photo is what caught my eye first and made me read your blog. I will get over it.
Goodness ! so happy to know your fine, cars can be replaced you can't !
cheers again....
Once again, so glad the deer and the vehicle were the only members of the accident party who were permanently damaged.
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't it nice to receive accolades for jobs that on their face (or on their tushies) aren't the most glamorous??
Mine was just a suggestion, not a scold. LOL
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your blogs. You are very talented and an awesome friend!!!!
angryparsnip - McDonald's has called my name a few times post wedding. Thanks for the kind comments about the blog look. I hope to be over to check on yours soon. I miss my Japan fix.
ReplyDeleteRK - Thank you. I do wish the insurance company would get on the ball. We are renting a car now but...
Kitty - Thank you much.
Wow, scary photo.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're OK. I do try to play chess once in a while but I'm certainly not as adept as I used to be. And my son is getting better. Soon he'll be beating me.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! So glad you're okay and not vacationing in a HOSPITAL wrapped up like a mummy. :) BTW, instead of moving to Mississippi, looks like Oklahoma City might be in our future. We're getting closer too you. Instead of the 11+ we are now, we'll only be 7+.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having fun reading, resting, enjoying kids and ... wiping.
Loach - Indeed.
ReplyDeleteCharles - I am playing against the computer now to try and get my skills back. It isn't working.
Jess - Oklahoma City is closer. It has been really fun taking a break.
I'm sure there must be some highly paid jobs out there needing someone with your wiping skills. If not, perhaps it's time to start up a business - wipers-r-us.com or some such thing :)
ReplyDeleteKim - Wipers-R-Us. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI believe myself to be a better than average wiper and I pride myself on my hairbrushing skills -- but I don't remember being praised for either accomplishment, so you're well ahead of me.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're okay after your close deer encounter! They happen around here too and can be VERY unnerving.
Ouch! Never a fun thing, totalling the car.
ReplyDeleteMary - Once you are a grandma you get kuddos for all sorts of things. It is very nice. But I try to not get too big-headed. Once my little 4 year-old Shay told me I looked just like Cinderella.
ReplyDeleteWilliam - So true. And you can never replace it for the amount the insurance company pays.
